The lower body lift is a combination of multiple procedures that are performed simultaneously in order to correct for lower body laxity that appears after significant weight loss or ageing. The lower body lift uses a circumferential incision that starts at the pubic area and extends over the lower abdomen, hips and over the buttocks on each side. The incision resembles a belt and thus the procedure is also known as a belt lipectomy or a circumferential abdominoplasty. Depending on who is performing your lower body lift, the type of incision, the degree of correction, and the number of procedures performed can vary widely. Although some plastic surgeons may call a circumferential tummy tuck a lower body lift, in our practice, a lower body lift has 6 components.
All these procedures are performed through the single circumferential incision. For most patients, our lower body lift is often combined with buttock augmentation in order to create a figure-8 shape. Read more.
